Made from the thermoplastic HDPE (high-density polyethylene), its high level of impermeability and strong molecular bond make it suitable for high pressure pipelines. HDPE pipe is used across the globe for applications such as water mains, gas mains, sewer mains, slurry transfer lines, rural irrigation, fire system supply lines, electrical and communications conduit, and stormwater and drainage pipes.

HDPE pipes are manufactured by extrusion of HDPE raw material, HDPE pipe extrusion processes are generally following the same steps of typical pipe extrusion operations:

 Feeding of HDPE raw material into the single screw extruder

 Melting and heating in multiple extruder zones

 Extruding through a mould to shape into a pipe

 Cooling of the shaped pipe

 Cutting of HDPE pipes to the desired length
